After many years of experience in various finance roles in industry, Brigitte joined GROWTHCAP 2 years ago, bringing with her a wealth of expertise in business development.
While working for Rank Xerox from 1981 to 1994, she was at the forefront of rapidly changing market conditions. When the Soviet Union collapsed, she was instrumental in devising and implementing a strategy for the Rank Xerox Eastern Export division to respond to the rapid opening of a market that was previously centrally controlled and restricted in all aspects of international trade.
During almost 20 years, Brigitte carried out several hundred SME projects in Eastern Europe within the TAM/BAS programme of the EBRD, where she assisted small enterprises to make their transition from micro start-ups to dynamic business, implementing modern management practices in quality, financial controls, marketing and distribution in a wide range of industry sectors. This resulted in enterprises growing rapidly and opened job
opportunities in generally deprived areas.
Her earlier training as a teacher, enabled Brigitte to develop and conduct training sessions, and to be instrumental in devising a new tranche of SME assistance. This was especially tailored to women entrepreneurs, which has since grown to the comprehensive Women in Business initiative within the EBRD.
Brigitte holds a degree in History and German from the University in Muenster and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She is fluent in English and German.
